New to the Library and need to know more? This is the perfect starting point for you to find out all about the Library

Welcome to Your Library!

You have access to a wide range of resources, including books, journals, research databases, newspapers, theses and reference materials. Many of our resources are available electronically, which means you can access them whenever and wherever you like.

You also have access to a number of library sites and a wide variety of study space, so that you can work collaboratively with others, make use of IT and audiovisual materials, or take advantage of silent study areas for intensive study periods.

New Students Induction Activity

This Getting Started guide provides Library Induction for new students.

It includes all the library 'know how' you'll need to get up an running quickly in your use of the Library.

Explore the guide and watch the various training videos that are provided.

These induction activities will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

Test your knowledge by taking the Library Induction Quiz once you have worked through the guide.

Library Search


Use Library Search to:

  • find book and journals titles and other items available online or in print via the Library Catalogue.

  • search for Articles + more across a wide range of full text resources via the library's discovery serviceThis allows you to search within books and journal articles to find relevant content.  

Help and guidance on using Library Search is available online via the Library Search LibGuide.

Databases A-Z

Use the Databases A-Z List to select a specific resource for comprehensive searching. You can browse by subject or type (e.g.maps, news, images etc.) or search to find your required resource. A short online demo is available to guide you. 

Library via iExeter

You can use the iExeter app to access your Library Record and to search online

The app is free to download and is available across a wide range of smartphones plus there is a desktop version.

The iExeter Desktop version will work on any internet enabled device, so you don't need to miss out if you're not using iPhone or Android.  

There is a shortcut to iExeter Desktop on all Cluster PCs.




The app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
