What is RNIB Bookshare?

RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) Bookshare UK education collection is a free online resource that allows educators to download curriculum materials in a range of formats and adapt them to suit personal reading needs of print-disabled learners.

Thousands of educators and learners in the UK have access to thiscollection of accessible books and images covering Early Years to Higher Education. 

The service enables learners who cannot read standard print, including those with dyslexia or who are blind or partially sighted, to read the same books, at the same time as their peers, giving them the same educational opportunities.

Who qualifies to access RNIB bookshare?

Students with:

  • Visual impairment: blind and partially sighted
  • Specific Learning Difficulty: Dyslexia, Autism , ADHD
  • Physical disability: if it significantly affects use of printed materials
