Bristol Shipping Records: Imports and Exports, 1770-1917 This link opens in a new window The Bristol Presentments are bills of entry derived from official sources, namely the reports and manifests of ships which docked in the port of Bristol. Bills cover either imports (usually foreign produce carried on foreign vessels) or exports (usually produced or manufactured in Britain and destined for foreign markets). Note: Some volumes are incomplete; 1829 and 1845 are missing.
Colonial Caribbean This link opens in a new window Stretching from Jamaica and the Bahamas to Trinidad and Tobago, Colonial Caribbean makes available materials from 27 Colonial Office file classes from The National Archives, UK. Covering the history of the various territories under British colonial governance from 1624 to 1870, this includes administrative documentation, trade and shipping records, minutes of council meetings, and details of plantation life, colonial settlement, imperial rivalries across the region, and the growing concern of absentee landlords.

Information includes names of vessels, names of home ports and colonies, details of the vessels' construction, the name of the owners, tonnage, number of guns carried, number of crew, and the cargo carried (including enslaved people as well as raw material).
Prison Ship Records from the War of 1812 This link opens in a new window Contains records from the British administered prisoner of war ships from this conflict. Records are from the ships and their corresponding ports, ranging from Plymouth to Barbados. Information provided includes the place of birth of prisoners, their health, and the port that their respective prison ships docked at.
