The steps in our guide are in a suggested order. You may decide you are more comfortable rearranging the steps to suit your process. For example, some students may prefer to write the main body of a piece of writing first and the introduction afterwards. You may also find that you work on some of the tasks simultaneously, or that you move backwards and forwards between them as you progress with your assignment.
These steps are particularly appropriate if you are writing an essay but they will also be helpful in completing other types of written work.
