Exeter Library's Reopening Information


Are the Libraries open? 

Forum and Haighton libraries are open to current staff and students only from Monday 14th September.  They will open at 08:00 with last entry at 19:15

Old Library remains closed.


Click & collect and Scan & deliver services available at Forum Library, St Luke's (Haighton) Library and Roborough Basement.


Additionally, library staff is available online to help with all enquiries:

08:00-20:00 Monday to Friday

10:00-18:00 Saturday and Sunday


The university is committed to safe working practices for our library staff and safe operating procedures for all library users. Our reopening is subject to change depending on government safety advice and the changing health and environmental conditions.

The university and library senior management group are committed to ensure safe working practices for staff and safe operating procedures for library users.To ensure our teams are aware and involved, we have been developing testing, providing training and circulating communications.

Additional information about what you might expect:

  1. Access to library spaces is different.
  2. Maintenance of library spaces changed, including cleaning.
  3. How we use library spaces has change.
  4. Books will not circulate between borrowers as quickly as before the COVID-19 outbreak.  
  5. Recall of books will not be reinstated.
  6. Please read about our digital reading lists which will ensure students have access to the material required for their modules.
  7. The university  recommends that all colleagues and students wear a face covering when inside University buildings.
  8. Capacity of onsite library teams will be reduced.
