Effective library research

As part of your studies you will have various tasks and assignments that require you to work with the library resources.

It is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer breadth of information available, and you can waste time if you look in the wrong place.

Before you start, you should consider three key questions:

What sort of information do I need?
Where should I look for information?
How can I search effectively so that I find relevant materials for my research topic?

This tutorial will help you answer these questions.

You will then be able to move on and choose the most relevant academic and non academic sources you wish to use for your research, and search those sources effectively so that you find relevant and high quality resources for use in your assignments.
