Early in 2025, it was noted that the NLM page which listed members of the LSTRC (Literature Selection Technical Review Committee) was no longer available. The LSTRC would meet 3 times a year to review journals which have applied to Medline. A previous list, captured on the Internet Archive wayback machine, is here.
On 8th September 2025, the NLM officially announced that the LSTRC had been disbanded, as part of ongoing efforts to "modernize operations". The BILD (Biomedical Informatics, Library, and Data Sciences Review Committee) also no longer appears in the National Library of Medicine Advisory Bodies page. A blog post produced by Nikki Dettmar identifies the changes that have been made to the journal selection procedure since this time. It is now no longer clear precisely who has the final say on which journals are indexed in the database.
