Advanced Clinical Practice subject guide: Cochrane library

Cochrane Library

The Cochrane Library is a collection of three databases to help you find high quality evidence:

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)

A regularly updated database of systematic reviews carried out to a gold-standard process.

Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL)

A useful source of randomised and quasi-randomised controlled trials. Full-text articles are not available through the Cochrane Library, however you may be able to access trials via your university library subscriptions. CENTRAL is updated on a monthly basis.

Cochrane Clinical Answers

A useful place to access evidence from Cochrane reviews. They have been designed to assist in clinical decision making. They include a clinical question, an answer and relevant outcome data designed to assist in healthcare decision making.
