Getting in touch with the Library

Online Chat

Using our online chat service is the quickest and easiest way to get help from real life library staff. Whenever you see the "Ask us" button on our webpages, a member of staff is available to help you.

Our chat is staffed by University of Exeter library staff 9.00 – 6.00 Monday to Friday and 10.00 – 6.00 at weekends.  Outside of these times library staff at other institutions may answer your chat.  They will need your email address to refer on any enquiries they cannot answer.

Library and study skills enquiries

This chat service is for library and study skills enquiries.  We will answer enquiries directly whenever possible.  We may direct you to self-help resources including libguides, and where necessary, we will request your contact details in order to refer your enquiry on to liaison librarians, study skills advisers, and other expert teams who will respond to you by email.  We may also direct you to non-library teams within the University where relevant.
